Biography
Ed Fowkes is a strategic advisor and entrepreneur with a rare blend of analytical clarity and creative problem-solving. Over three decades, he has built, scaled, dismantled, rebuilt and reimagined businesses across design, construction, residential real estate and strategic consulting. This variety of experience through successes and failures is what shapes his work with founders at TableNetwork.
His career began unusually: a student of furniture and interior design who bought his first buy-to-let flat on the way to art school. What followed was a 30-year journey through design studios, construction teams, asset acquisitions, social enterprise and ultimately the co-founding of Prosperity Capital, a business that grew to a £500m development pipeline across the UK and Ireland.
Alongside growth came another side of entrepreneurship: volatility, misjudgment, market shocks and the humbling process of starting again. As Ed puts it, “We learn more from failure than success but learning from other people’s failure costs less in time and money.”
That philosophy of learning from peers now underpins TableNetwork.
Today, Ed works with founders who want to think more clearly, execute more effectively and build calm, intelligent businesses rather than frantic ones. To have a business that makes life better is the best outcome. His approach blends the precision of engineering logic with the creativity of design thinking. He helps entrepreneurs map risks, understand their annual rhythm and scale without losing their soul.
Outside work, he cherishes time with his family, speaks daily with his sons (one a business partner, another currently a ski instructor in Canada), climbs and boulders three times a week and travels often (especially to France, for food, skiing and the Atlantic coast). Also, look out for the musical and occasionally philosophical easter eggs that he weaves into every newsletter he writes.

Approach
Ed blends three disciplines:
1. Strategic thinking
Seeing the game from altitude
2. Analytical rigour
Mapping risks, patterns and leverage points
3. Creative problem-solving
Using design principles to simplify complexity
His philosophy is straightforward:
Business, and life, are journeys best travelled with others.
Clarity beats hustle.
